Senior Python developer
Build Django and FastAPI products for clients, talk to them yourself, and stay on the work after it ships.
What you'll do
Design and build Django and FastAPI applications, including Wagtail when the product needs a CMS.
Own a client engagement: the estimate, the fortnightly demo, and the code in their repository.
Keep tests and CI in place, and take on a Django upgrade or rescue when that is the brief.
Review other engineers' work and keep the stack boring on purpose: Postgres, HTMX, Celery, Docker.
Leave the client with a runbook, not a dependency on you.
Essential
You have shipped production Python for several years, with Django as a daily tool.
You can change a PostgreSQL schema and explain what it will do under load.
Automated tests are part of the work, and they run in CI.
You can explain a trade-off to someone who does not write code.
You have the right to work in the UK.
Useful, not required
FastAPI, Wagtail or HTMX on a product that is already live.
A Django upgrade or rescue you can talk through, including what you refused to rewrite.
A deploy you have run on AWS or GCP, with Terraform or something equally dull.
A retrieval feature you added to an existing application, rather than a notebook demo.
